7. Abstract
: This paper proposes a ripple current mitigation method for the DC-link capacitor in a two-stage single-phase DC–AC inverter. Excessive capacitor ripple current reduces the lifespan of the capacitors, while oversizing the capacitor to satisfy ripple current ratings increases system volume. The proposed method adaptively shifts the phase of the converter output current in real time based on its phase relationship with the inverter input current. This phase angle is the optimal angle that maximizes the cancellation of ripple components in two currents, thereby minimizing the capacitor ripple current. Additionally, the proposed method compensates for the fluctuation in inductor current on the boost converter due to the real-time change of the carrier phase angle by applying a feedforward term. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through experiments.
